Refund and Cancellation Policy
When LiMon licenses and maintenance renewals can be refunded or cancelled, and how to request it.
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains when a LiMon purchase can be refunded or cancelled. It covers perpetual platform licenses and annual maintenance, and applies to purchases made through our authorised reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.
The short version: evaluate LiMon for 60 days before you spend anything, and once we have issued you a license key, the sale is final. A license key cannot be un-issued — once it is in your hands it runs on your servers, offline and unrevocable — so we cannot take it back. Before a key is issued, a purchase is refundable within 14 days. Everything below is the detail around this principle.
1. Evaluate first — 60 days, no payment
Every prospective customer can run a full 60-day evaluation with Professional features enabled, on their own infrastructure, against their own license servers. No card, no commitment.
This is deliberately generous, and it is the reason the policy below is firm: you can prove LiMon works in your environment before any money changes hands. If you are unsure, request an evaluation rather than buying and asking for a refund later.
2. Perpetual platform licenses
Before your key is issued — refundable within 14 days. Buying a platform license does not immediately produce a key. Your order waits in the customer portal until you supply the Installation ID of the machine you want to license. As long as no key has been generated, you may cancel the order for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days the order is no longer refundable, but it does not expire — you can assign an Installation ID and claim your key at any time.
After your key is issued — final. Once you assign an Installation ID and we sign your key, the sale is final and non-refundable, regardless of the 14 days. The key is Ed25519-signed, install-bound, and works entirely offline — we have no way to revoke it or verify it has been destroyed.
You can see exactly which state your order is in at any time: the portal shows an order as awaiting an Installation ID until the key exists, and shows the key itself afterwards.
3. Annual maintenance
Maintenance is sold as a credit that you apply to a license in the portal. Applying it re-signs that license and extends its expiry.
Unapplied maintenance — refundable within 14 days. If you have bought maintenance but not yet applied it to a license, nothing has been extended and no key has been re-signed. You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days the credit is no longer refundable, but it does not expire — you can still apply it to a license at any time.
Applied maintenance — final. Once a credit is applied and the license is re-signed with a later expiry date, the term has been delivered and is non-refundable, regardless of the 14 days.
The same applied/unapplied line governs renewals. When an annual subscription renews on an active license, the new year is applied automatically and the license is re-signed — so a renewal that has processed is delivered and final, exactly like a manual application. A renewal that has not been applied to any license stays an unapplied credit, and is refundable like any other.
Cancel before the renewal date. Because a processed renewal re-signs your key and cannot be un-issued, your control over an unwanted renewal is to cancel before it charges — we email you beforehand precisely so you can. Cancel any time through Paddle’s customer portal — use the link in any Paddle receipt or renewal email, or go to paddle.net with your purchase email — or email us and we will cancel it for you. Cancellation stops all future charges. It never shortens a term you have already paid for: your license stays valid to its current expiry date, and your perpetual platform license keeps running regardless.
4. Situations we always refund
Regardless of the above, we refund in full where:
- you were charged more than once for the same order;
- you paid but never received the license or maintenance you bought;
- we sold you the wrong edition and it cannot be corrected (for example, Professional maintenance that cannot be applied to your Standard license).
If something went wrong on our side, we fix it. Email [email protected] and we will sort it out.
5. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have by law.
If you are buying as a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal on your initial purchase, and similar rights exist in other jurisdictions. These rights belong to consumers, not to businesses — most LiMon customers buy as a company, in which case they do not apply. Where they do apply, they take precedence over this policy and are honoured by Paddle.
Paddle, as merchant of record, may also grant refunds at its own discretion under its Refund Policy.
6. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, including your order number, and tell us what happened. We will confirm within two business days.
Refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method, normally within 14 days of approval. You can also contact Paddle directly at paddle.net.
We do not refund where there is evidence of fraud or refund abuse.
